The Blessings We Carry

August 28, 2026 by Joanne Fink

Some Torah verses live on the page; others become part of how we live. This week, Parashat Ki Tavo invites us to look for the blessings we carry, the blessings we share, and the ways we can help repair what is broken.

The Threads That Connect Us

August 21, 2026 by Joanne Fink

What do we need to release—and what do we need to hold onto? This week, Parashat Ki Teitzei, the Elul practice of RELEASE, and an extraordinary response from the Jewish community remind me that we are individual threads woven into something much larger.

Elul invites us to pause, reflect, and begin the sacred work of teshuvah. Through Parashat Shoftim, guided journaling, and simple daily practices, we begin a journey of reflection, release, repair, and return.

Envisioning the Path Ahead

August 7, 2026 by Joanne Fink

Parashat Re’eh reminds us that our choices matter. As Elul approaches, we are invited to practice cheshbon hanefesh—an accounting of the soul—to see where we are, envision where we hope to go, and open our hearts to possibility through prayer, reflection, journaling, and creativity.

Opening the Gates

August 22, 2025 by Joanne Fink

This week’s Torah portion, Re’eh, reminds us that life is filled with choices—both large and small—and that our decisions ripple outward to shape the world around us. As we welcome the month of Elul, a season of cheshbon hanefesh (soul-accounting), may we choose wisely, bless abundantly, and prepare our hearts for the journey of t’shuvah.
