At Home-Prayer Space
For the past few months I have been attending Shabbat services on-line, usually from my kitchen. But with the upcoming High Holidays, I’m working on creating an at-home prayer space to add a sense of Kadosh— holiness— to my worship. I am planning to include photos of people I love, books I cherish, fresh flowers and a pomegranate sculpture that my son brought back from Israel. I have been working on some new Enso art with words that I find meaningful and uplifting; words that I hope will help light my path in the year ahead.
This week’s Torah portion, Ki Tavo, has words that resonate deeply for me: You shall be blessed when you come, and when you go. Deuteronomy 28:6. This is one of the pieces that I will use to decorate my at-home prayer space.
If you are also building a sacred space in the sanctuary of your home, and would like to create your own piece of Enso word art, I invite you to join me for a free 90 minute Zoom workshop on Sunday at 2:00 Eastern time.
These are some of the handouts I’ve designed for the workshop— PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND PRINT THEM before class.
The workshop is sponsored by Temple Beth Tikvah outside Atlanta as one of the many offerings for the collaborative Jew It At Home project. Click here to register.
As always, you are welcome to share. I hope to ‘see’ some of you on Sunday!
